Business Oregon Awards $750,000 to High Desert Partnership

Great news for small frontier businesses. High Desert Partnership has been awarded $750,000 from Business Oregon, the State of Oregon's economic development agency, to provide business technical assistance to small businesses in Harney County and beyond. HDP is serving as the lead agency in a partnership that, in addition to Harney, reaches Baker, Union, Wallowa and Malheur counties. Through this funding, which is targeted for businesses across Oregon that are traditionally underrepresented and under-resourced, agencies in each county will be able to increase the direct technical assistance they provide to small businesses in their communities. As Business Oregon has shared, this technical assistance funding is being made "widely available and accessible so that economic recovery is equitable and does not perpetuate long-standing disparities". High Desert Partnership and its economic opportunity collaborative BizHarney, is partnering with EUVALCREE, the Burns Paiute Tribe, Northeast Oregon Economic Development District and Launch Pad Baker to provide the small business technical assistance made possible by this funding to each organization's respective communities.
