Collaboration Defeats Confrontation At Malheur
A rural, beautiful landscape in Easter Oregon, Harney County is a place of self-reliance. High Desert Partnership is a product of this self reliance. Tired of litigation and fighting over the same issues: agency employees, ranchers, conservationists and many others came together to collaborate. This model of working together became the nonprofit High Desert Partnership and fourteen years later continues to be a fixture in Harney County working to strengthen the economy, support the community and care for and manage the landscape. This presentation and talk will be provided by two of the founders of High Desert Partnership, Chad Karges and Gary Marshall along with perspectives from another local rancher Dan Nichols and High Desert Partnership's Executive Director Brenda Smith.
