The Harney County Wildfire Collaborative is hosting a meeting and field trip Thursday, July 19. The purpose is to discuss options for the next pilot project this collaborative takes on. The meeting begins at 9:30am at the ESD Center (25 Fairview Heights, Burns, OR) followed by the field trip to visit a number of sites in the Bartlett Area east of Burns. The area has had a number of large wildfires in recent years, most notably the Buzzard complex, which burned around 400,000 acres in 2014.

Let Ecological Coordinator, Ben Cates know if you can join us. There will be a limited number of 4x4 vehicles available for the field trip portion of the day, so if you don't have a vehicle capable of off-road use we'll want to make sure seats are available with someone else. AND, bring a lunch!
