People Who Collaborate

Andy Swingle, Burns Dental Group Business Manager

Andy Swingle serves as the Business Manager for Burns Dental Group, where he oversees a wide range of responsibilities. "As Business Manager, my responsibilities focus on the day-to-day operations of the business, as well as the long-term goals for the practice. I wear quite a few hats, from payroll, accounts payable and receivable, Human Resources, hiring/training, doing annual reviews, and being the liaison for Burns Dental Group and the Youth Changing the Community Collaborative."(YCTC)

Andy's career path has been diverse, featuring extensive experience within the restaurant, hospitality, and customer service sectors. He holds a Bachelor of Arts in Psychology with a Business Minor from Portland State University and later earned an Executive MBA from Corban University.

As a representative of Burns Dental Group, Andy is actively involved with YCTC, reflecting the practice's commitment to community engagement. "Burns Dental Group has always been looking to help in the community. Whether it is sponsorship for events and activities around the community or participating in previous internship programs, Burns Dental Group strives to be a contributor to improve the community as best we can."

This commitment extends to YCTC. "As many people have experienced, some really skillful and talented young adults are forced to make very difficult decisions as far as what to do after high school. Some feel there is no choice but to move out of the area to try to gain the skills necessary to pursue a career. Having the YCTC program enables these young adults to see that there are lots of opportunities here in established careers, as well as an open field to carve their own path in the community. In a small community such as this we must “grow our own” and YCTC helps these young adults, but also the community, see what is possible in Harney County. I am a big believer in what YCTC is doing and look forward to seeing these young adults become young professionals, contributing to this wonderful community."

"I urge those who are interested in partnering with YCTC to do so. It has been a great experience for Burns Dental Group and I am certain it will be a great experience for others."

Outside of work, Andy's life centers around his family. He moved to Harney County in August 2016 with his wife, Kelsi, a Burns High School graduate, seeking the appeal of small-town life for raising their children. The couple has two kids: Mackenzie and Luke. Their free time is filled with youth sports, library visits, and church activities.
