High Desert Partnership Position Openings
This position is part of the Harney Basin Wetlands Initiative (HBWI), a collaborative effort among multiple agencies, organizations, and stakeholders, convened by the High Desert Partnership, to conserve migratory bird habitat through management of invasive common carp and aquatic health improvement. The person in this position will provide field coordination and on-the-ground assistance to partners in order to accomplish aquatic health objectives identified in the HBWI Strategic Action Plan and Focused Investment Work Plan. We are seeking 1 lead wetlands technician and 2 regular wetlands technicians to help implement two wet meadow monitoring projects within the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. Beginning in mid-June and ending in mid-August, technicians will visit project sites throughout the refuge and collect data on vegetation standing crop and production, plant species compositions, and other various habitat quality metrics.
